Why is my stack dryer not heating?
On a gas stack dryer, most no-heat calls come down to the igniter, the gas valve coils, or a hi-limit thermostat that has tripped because of restricted airflow. We confirm gas pressure and the ignition sequence, then check the vent, a hi-limit that keeps tripping is telling you the duct is blocked.
My dryers take almost an hour to dry a load. What is wrong?
Airflow, in nearly every case. Lint-packed ducts, a crushed or collapsed transition, a failed booster fan, or a store with no make-up air all starve the dryer of the air it needs to carry moisture out. We measure airflow and dry times before and after, so the fix is verified rather than assumed.
